Got my hair cut this weekend! Donated the rest to Locks of Love. Love it!

'Tis the day!

I start a new goal list. I am so ready to quit my day job. Unfortunately my bills tell me otherwise :(

I thought long and hard about it last night and came up with a few goals to start off with.
1. Print new business cards tonight.
2. Finish one small project each night - to start with.
3. Work on one bigger art quilt each night a week.
4. Stop overextending myself in outside activities.

Of course this all works around my daughter reading to me every night and our quality time. We have just been unorganized and I need to get priorities straight if I want success for BOTH of us. It's a hard balance.

Project tonight? Cuffs made from old records. I will post pics after! In my head they are awesome! :)

P.S. They rock!! I even made one for my daughter. Too cute!

Exhaustion...

is setting in. This week has been non stop action. Every night we haven't returned home until 9pm or so. Things will slow down Saturday evening though. I am childless for an evening! Whatever will I do with myself. Sadly, I will probably stay in and clean and create. My friends have all tried to convince me otherwise but rarely do I get any "alone" time and I need to renew myself! I can't wait! It's been over a month.

Last night Sophie dressed as Queen Elizabeth. She was so cute! At one point someone said to her "Oh my goodness you are such a pretty princess!" My ever so humble daughter replied "I am NOT a princess. I am a QUEEN." She even added a little hand motion like she had a fan in her hand. She did a slight curtsy as a thank you for everyone who gave her candy. She's no queen - she's a diva. Too funny.

There is a trunk show coming up with my Etsy Dallas Team. It's December 8th. I want to join in but I'm scared! I have hardly any product and I am not so sure I will have the time to create a stash before then. I already have commissioned work that I am doing and to add the pressure of having enough to bring to my 1st trunk show is a little intimidating. I think I will hold off for the December 8th and work on stuff for one in the Spring. A friend and I will be going to support my other Etsy Dallas peeps and to get an idea of what to expect for Spring.

I have to get some sleep. Tomorrow night I will try to jazz up my lonely blog a bit. He looks naked.

Sweet dreams! OOoh! I have a new Crochet today mag and the newest Craft mag to tuck in with this weekend! Maybe I'll splurge on a nice bottle of wine to go with it...

I am a craft addict

There, I've admitted it. My poor little apartment has crafty bits and pieces everywhere. It is organized chaos. I'm never searching for anything - that's a good thing right? Almost everything I see I think to myself "Oh! I could do that!". The problem is - I can't!! I start to try to sew something and my lines are all messy or I crochet a piece and I can't get the color switch right. I'm a self taught Crafty. Don't get me wrong - Quite often my concoction turns out quite pretty! Not exactly what I had in mind but unique and different. Sometimes not to pretty but we make and learn.

My project right now is for my potholder-less friend Charlie. She just redid her dining room set in a gorgeous black and when we had dinner at her place there were no potholders! So I am making her a lovely snotty green and soft aqua set of potholders and matching dish rags. I am doing aqua with a green skull and border. After 4 hours of frogging (rip-it rip-it) the poor little potholder I gave up at 2am. I can't seem to get the changing of the colors! I think I have an idea now and I will try again tomorrow night when I am a little more sane. They are so cute in my mind! Oh yes and her birthday was the 16th so I am a smidge late...
